RIYADH: Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi has met with President and Founder of the Women Political Leaders (WPL) Silvana Koch-Mehrin and discussed topics of mutual interest, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
During the meeting, at the council headquarters in Riyadh, Al-Ahmadi reviewed the Shura Council’s operational mechanisms and legislative roles. She also highlighted the Kingdom’s comprehensive development movement and the achievements made across all sectors through the Saudi Vision 2030, stressing the empowerment of Saudi women in various areas and leadership positions.
She noted their active participation in the Shura Council, with significant involvement in its sessions, committees, and domestic and global engagements, which enhanced women’s leadership roles in international forums and regional and global conferences.
Koch-Mehrin lauded the progress made across various sectors in Saudi Arabia commending the strides made in empowering women and their active role in achieving the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
The founder of WPL also toured the council, including the main hall, the main chamber for sessions, and the historical museum.
