MAKKAH: The Holy Quran Museum in Saudi Arabia has displayed a replica of the Holy Kaaba’s door, highlighting it as a striking representation of the harmony between artistic excellence and spiritual values in Islamic civilisation.

The replica at Hira Cultural District in Makkah features verses from the Holy Quran in Arabic calligraphy and Islamic decoration, rendered in a distinctive artistic style, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

The original door dates back to the reign of the late King Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. It was crafted in 1979 from pure gold and features intricate detailing and rich Islamic engravings.

These include verses from the Holy Quran, which form an essential part of the design and reflect the sacred status of the Holy Kaaba in the hearts of Muslims.

The replica on display highlights the beauty of Arabic calligraphy, one of the most important Islamic art forms historically associated with the writing of the Holy Quran.

The engraved verses are arranged in a balanced composition that reflects precision in design and a mastery of craftsmanship. Floral and geometric motifs surround the text, adding depth and a distinctive visual character.

The museum is attracting more visitors, including those interested in Islamic heritage, because of its reliable educational content and innovative displays, which reinforce Makkah’s position as a centre of Islamic culture and human civilisation.
