RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s rising life expectancy has become a key measure of the progress achieved through healthcare reforms led by the Ministry of Health and other government entities, reflecting improvements in preventive care, medical services, and overall quality of life.
Under the health sector transformation initiatives of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s average life expectancy increased from 77.6 years in 2022 to 78.8 years in 2023, before reaching 79.7 years in 2024, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
The latest figures put Saudi Arabia close to achieving its national target of an 80-year average life expectancy by 2030.

Officials attributed the improvement to a stronger focus on preventive healthcare, better management of chronic diseases, and expanded access to integrated health services.
The progress also reflects a coordinated government approach through the Ministerial Committee for Health in All Policies, which places public health and sustainable quality of life at the centre of national development efforts.
