RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a telephone call from Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres on Tuesday and discussed regional developments.

During the call, both sides discussed avenues for cooperation as well as a range of regional and international developments of mutual interest, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chaired the GCC Consultative Summit in Jeddah, bringing together leaders and delegation heads from member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The summit focused on key regional and international developments, along with efforts to enhance coordination among member states, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Cabinet on Tuesday reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for all diplomatic efforts to achieve global peace and stability.

Relations between the United Nations and Saudi Arabia are centered on cooperation in diplomacy, humanitarian aid, and global development.

Saudi Arabia is an active UN member, contributing to peacekeeping support, relief efforts, and funding for UN agencies, particularly in crisis-affected regions.

The Kingdom also aligns with UN frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals, while engaging in dialogue on regional security and economic stability.
