RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Friday spoke over the phone with his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Badr Abdelatty and discussed the latest regional developments.
During the call, they agreed to maintain close coordination and consultation on these issues, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
It may be recalled that Saudi Arabia on Tuesday reaffirmed its support for Pakistan’s mediation and diplomatic efforts to reach a political solution between the United States and Iran to bring peace and stability in the region.
Saudi Arabia and Egypt continue to maintain a strategically important partnership, grounded in shared interests in regional stability and security.
Their cooperation has strengthened over time, particularly in addressing common challenges and promoting collective Arab positions on key geopolitical issues.
In the context of rising tensions between Iran and the United States, both countries have played a constructive and stabilising role by emphasising diplomacy and restraint.
