RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held separate phone conversations on Thursday with counterparts from China and Japan to discuss the latest regional developments.
Prince Faisal, during a call with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, reviewed the developments in the region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Later, the Saudi top diplomat received a call from Toshimitsu Motegi, Japan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, during which the two officials discussed bilateral cooperation and recent regional developments, highlighting the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration, the SPA reported.
These discussions underscore Saudi Arabia’s proactive engagement with international partners to maintain stability, promote peace, and strengthen diplomatic ties in a rapidly evolving regional landscape.
Japan praises Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic efforts
Meanwhile, Japan’s foreign ministry reported that Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, during a phone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, praised his efforts to find a diplomatic resolution to the conflict in the Middle East.
Toshimitsu Motegi affirmed that Japan will continue its diplomatic efforts to help de-escalate tensions with Iran and expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with Saudi Arabia, the foreign ministry said.
