RIYADH: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud received a series of phone calls on Monday from the foreign ministers of Russia, Canada, Egypt, Cyprus, and Uzbekistan to discuss the latest regional developments and ongoing efforts to safeguard stability.
During his call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Prince Faisal reviewed developments in the region and explored efforts aimed at restoring security and stability.
According to the Saudi Gazette, a Saudi newspaper, the discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The Saudi foreign minister also received a written message from Lavrov concerning ways to further enhance bilateral relations and expand cooperation across various sectors.
The message was handed over to Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khereiji during a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sergey Kozlov at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.
Officials reviewed ties and discussed matters of mutual interest.
In a separate call, Prince Faisal and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand exchanged views on the latest regional developments and issues of common concern.
The Saudi foreign minister also spoke with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Badr Abdel-Aty, with both sides discussing regional developments and efforts to maintain security and stability.
During talks with Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, the two sides addressed serious regional developments and reaffirmed their rejection of actions that could undermine regional security and stability.
Prince Faisal also held discussions with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, reviewing the latest developments and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and preserving stability.
The series of diplomatic engagements underscores Saudi Arabia’s active coordination with international partners amid heightened regional tensions.
