RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Wednesday discussed regional developments with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they assessed the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the European Union, while also reviewing recent regional developments and their broader security and economic implications on the global stage, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Earlier, Prince Faisal bin Farhan received phone calls from Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan Ayman Safadi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Hakan Fidan.
The calls focused on regional developments and welcomed all efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
Saudi Arabia on Wednesday also welcomed the two-week ceasefire reached between the US and Iran and brokered through Pakistan-led diplomacy, calling for a comprehensive deal to bring stability back to the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the US–Iran ceasefire announced by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and US President Donald Trump.
Saudi Arabia praised Pakistan’s leadership for their role in securing the agreement, describing it as the result of “fruitful efforts” and specifically acknowledging Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in achieving the ceasefire agreement.
