RIYADH: Saudi aid agency, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has made remarkable progress in clearing Yemeni land from mines under the Masam project, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
A total of 1,906 mines were successfully removed in various areas of Yemen during the third week of April.
Overall, 9 anti-personnel mines, 68 anti-tank mines, 1,815 unexploded ordnance, and 14 improvised explosive devices were removed.
Under the Masam project 555,734 mines have been cleared, including 4,545 cleared so far in April.
The demining operations took place in Marib, Aden, Jouf, Shabwa, Taiz, Hodeidah, Lahij, Sanaa, Al-Bayda, Al-Dhale, and Saada.
It is pertinent to mention that Saudi Arabia, through the Masam project, is eager to remove the mines that were planted on Yemeni territory.
The mines pose a direct threat to the innocent lives of the Yemeni people.
Saudi Arabia, by carrying out such essential work, contributes a lot to enhancing the safety and security of the Yemeni citizens.
