JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has received the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, in Jeddah and discussed the latest regional developments.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State, Cabinet Member and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban.

Saudi Arabia calls for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions
Earlier on Sunday, Saudi Arabia called for the de-escalation of regional tensions and space for political and diplomatic efforts to address the current developments in the Middle East.
Speaking at the BRICS 2026 Summit in New Delhi on behalf of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah affirmed that security in the Arabian Gulf cannot be achieved without respect for the sovereignty and independence of its states, non-interference in their internal affairs, adherence to the principles of good neighbourliness, and the peaceful settlement of disputes, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The Saudi foreign minister stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia, the integrity of its territory, and the protection of its national assets are non-negotiable, and that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states will not accept any targeting of their territories, facilities, or vital interests, regardless of the pretexts or justifications invoked.
US forces redirect 101 commercial ships: CENTCOM
Meanwhile, US forces had redirected 101 commercial ships as part of efforts to enforce a blockade against Iran, the US Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to CENTCOM, the ships were redirected to ensure compliance with the US blockade. The figure was recorded as of September 13, although the command did not provide further details about the identities, routes, or destinations of the ships.
