RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has warned that recent Iranian strikes targeting Gulf States have undermined intensive Arab mediation and de-escalation efforts, posing a serious threat to regional stability and broader international peace.
Riyadh stressed that such actions risk reversing diplomatic progress aimed at easing tensions and restoring security across the region.
Representing the Arab Group at the 61st session of the Human Rights Council, Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the Iranian attacks targeting Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Oman, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
In a statement delivered by Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulmohsen Bin Khothaila described the strikes as serious violations of international law, the UN Charter and the sovereignty of the affected states.
The Kingdom stressed that the escalation undermines intensive Arab mediation and de-escalation efforts, posing a threat to regional stability and international peace.
