ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and security, pledging a firm response to any threats or acts of aggression against the Kingdom or the safety of its citizens and residents.
The commitment was made during the session of the Saudi Cabinet chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
The Cabinet reviewed international developments and the Kingdom’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, in coordination with brotherly and friendly nations, to consolidate the region’s security, safeguard stability, and sustain development and prosperity for its peoples.

In a statement issued by the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Cabinet had reviewed the outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in meetings held under the auspices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the G20.
He said the Kingdom’s engagement formed part of its efforts to promote multilateral action, strengthen mechanisms for cooperation across various sectors, advance shared interests and develop effective, sustainable solutions to pressing global challenges. These include maritime security, energy and food security, international trade and supply chains.

Saudi Arabia calls for urgent action to safeguard maritime security
The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s rejection of all violations that threaten the safety and security of maritime navigation and global energy supplies. It also stressed the need for urgent international action to protect vital sea routes, ensure the uninterrupted flow of global trade and uphold international law.
Despite the challenges facing the region, the Cabinet noted that Saudi Arabia had continued to serve as a reliable supplier of energy to global markets.
This, it said, was made possible by long-term investments in infrastructure, storage facilities and supply chains, supported by an integrated system capable of responding to changing circumstances with the highest levels of technical and operational efficiency.
These efforts, the Cabinet said, have helped strengthen global energy security and enhance the resilience of international supply networks.
