Saudi Arabia, Turkiye Agree to Enhance Defence Cooperation

ANKARA: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkiye have agreed to enhance joint defence cooperation to deal with the situation in the region and ensure regional security and stability.

Saudi Assistant Minister of Defense, Eng. Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi has paid an official visit to Turkiye along with a high-level delegation from several agencies. During the visit, he met with several Turkish officials. 

The Saudi Minister began his visit with a meeting with the Minister of National Defense of Turkiye, Hulusi Akar. During the meeting, they discussed the significance of defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Turkiye in all fields. 

They also activated the agreements signed between the two countries for defence cooperation and developing and strengthening defence ties to serve common interests and support regional stability and security. 

Defence cooperation between KSA and Turkiye

The Saudi Minister then met with Yunus Emre Karaosmanoglu, the Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defense. The meeting dealt with the regional situation and ways to strengthen joint defense cooperation. 

The Saudi Minister also met with Mohsen Dara, the Deputy Minister of National Defense of Turkey. During the meeting discussed enhancing cooperation in the field of defense industries. They also discussed collaboration between the defense ministries of Turkiye and Saudi Arabia.

Then, the Saudi Defence Minister met with Lieutenant General Yaar Güler, the Chief of Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces. 

The Saudi Defence Minister concluded his visit to Turkiye by visiting several companies affiliated with the Turkish National Defense Ministry. He was briefed on their products, and toured several of their factories. He also listened to an explanation of their workflow and departments.
