RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is making preparations to offer four of its regional airports in the Kingdom to private sector, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics said this while speaking at the Municipal Investment Forum here Tuesday. The Agency quoted him as saying that there are currently 22 investment opportunities up for grabs in the transport sector of the kingdom, which he said, is undergoing a massive expansion in line with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
Plan including airports’ privatization to fetch SR600bn
The comprehensive programme aims to place the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents and improve all transport services in support of Saudi Vision 2030. The strategy aspires to fetch SR600bn.
Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser said it was necessary to capitalize on the financing sources by strengthening partnership with private sector. He told the Municipal Investment forum that his ministry was also preparing a road code to improve the Kingdom’s road quality index.
