RIYADH:  The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the continued Israeli military escalation against unarmed civilians, including the targeting of the European Hospital in Khan Younis, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, said the recent action comes as part of a series of repeated assaults by the Israeli war machine on the Palestinian people.

The Gaza European Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis, the only remaining facility providing medical follow-up for cancer patients in the enclave, announced it was out of service on Thursday after Israeli attacks damaged its facilities. At least 114 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes in Gaza on Thursday, according to local authorities.

The Kingdom reiterated its unequivocal rejection of the ongoing Israeli acts of genocide and calls for an immediate ceasefire.  “(The) Kingdom holds the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for their continued violation of all international and humanitarian norms and laws,” the statement added.

The Foreign Ministry also emphasised the legal, humanitarian, and moral responsibility of the international community to activate international accountability mechanisms and to put an end to the ongoing violations of international law and international resolutions by the Israeli occupation forces in Palestine.

Meanwhile, a British doctor working in Gaza has released video footage capturing the aftermath of a devastating Israeli airstrike on the European Gaza Hospital in Gaza.

Dr. Tom Potokar, a consultant plastic surgeon, shared the video with the BBC, showing the destruction caused by the strike, which reportedly involved six bombs.

Potokar, who has traveled to Gaza 16 times to provide critical medical care to Palestinians, described the footage as a “snapshot” of his experience working under dire conditions at the hospital.

In the video, he recounts witnessing an “absolutely massive strike … right in front of the emergency room,” as chaos unfolded, with people running and lying on the ground outside the facility.
