RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation government Prime Minister’s illegal entry into Syrian territory, terming it a flagrant violation of the Arab nation’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and a blatant breach of international law.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Thursday, stressed the importance of stopping Israeli violations and transgressions against the country and adhering to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, in a manner that preserves the security and stability of the region.
The Kingdom reiterated its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Damascus.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Syrian side of Mount Hermon on Wednesday alongside Defence Minister Israel Katz, where the two officials vowed that Israeli forces would maintain their presence in the southern part of the country.
Syria condemns Netanyahu’s visit
Damascus also condemned Netanyahu’s visit on Wednesday, describing it as a “provocative” act and warning that continued Israeli incursions and attacks represented a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability.
It called on the UN, international organisations and other states to intervene to halt Israeli actions and ensure compliance with the 1974 agreement.

Qatar denounces Israeli PM’s visit
Qatar has also strongly condemned Netanyahu’s entry into Syrian territory, calling it a blatant violation of the country’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and a “serious threat” to regional security.
Foreign Ministry said Netanyahu’s entry into teh AMinistry rab nation territory and crossing of international borders was illegal, and urged the international community to take urgent action to compel Israel to comply with international law, particularly the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges the international community to take urgent action to compel the Israeli occupation to comply with international law resolutions, particularly the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, and to stop its repeated attacks on Syrian territory to prevent further escalation and tension in the region,” the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

During Wednesday’s visit, Netanyahu said Israel had established control over the area stretching from Mount Hermon toward the Yarmouk River and vowed not to allow forces it considers a threat to establish themselves near Israel’s border.
Following the overthrow of the country’s longtime ruler Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, Israel deployed troops into a UN-patrolled buffer zone that had separated Israeli and Syrian forces on the Golan Heights for decades. Israel now refers to the area as a “security zone” in the southern part of the country.
Israel has also carried out repeated incursions further into Syrian territory, alongside a series of airstrikes. It says the measures are aimed at establishing a demilitarised zone in southern Syria.
Israel captured most of the Golan from Syria in the 1967 Arab-Israeli War and later annexed the areas under its control, in a move not recognised by most of the international community.
