Saudi Arabia Pledges $1bln for Pakistan at Geneva Conference

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday that the brotherly country of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) had announced $1 billion to support Pakistan in carrying out the daunting task of rehabilitation and resilient recovery from the flood.

The minister shared the development on her Twitter handle. The announcement was made at the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan in Geneva.

Geneva conference pledges

Marriyum Aurangzeb, in another tweet, said the development partners were exploring collaborative ways in the second plenary phase of the Geneva Conference to build back better.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank had announced $1 billion to build back better climate-resilient infrastructure and adaptation, the minister added.
