Saudi Arabia Appoints Women Ambassadors to Finland, EU

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has appointed two more women ambassadors in an effort to boost women’s empowerment in leadership positions.

Haifa Al-Jedea and Nesreen Al-Shebel were sworn in along with several other newly appointed ambassadors at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh before Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Al-Jedea has been appointed as Ambassador and Head of Mission of Saudi Arabia to the European Union (EU) and the EAEC. Al-Shebel has been named as ambassador to Finland.

With the new appointments, the number of women Saudi diplomats has reached five.

Ambassador Al Jedea was the managing director (MD) of SRMG Think, a newly established studies department by the Saudi Arabia Research and Media Group that aims to provide analyzes about the Middle East and North Africa in various fields, including economy, geography, and foreign policy.
