Saudi Arabia and Austria Hail US-Iran Deal, Stress Need for Regional Stability

VIENNA: Saudi Arabia and Austria have welcomed the agreement reached between Iran and the United States, stressing the importance to support regional stability and promote political and diplomatic solutions to various crises and disputes.

The two sides said this during a meeting between Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger in Vienna, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

They also reviewed bilateral ties and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields to serve mutual interests and enhance the partnership between the two countries.

During the meeting, the foreign minister congratulated Austria on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2027–2028 term, expressing hope that Vienna would play a constructive role in advancing international peace and security, strengthening international law, and supporting multilateral cooperation.

Discussions further focused on expanding economic and investment ties between Saudi Arabia and Austria.

Both sides explored opportunities for greater cooperation in key sectors, including energy, renewable energy, and logistics, while highlighting the importance of promoting mutual investment.

They also pointed to the opportunities created by Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in the fields of clean energy, innovation, and advanced technologies.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Austria Abdullah bin Khalid Tawlah and Foreign Ministry Advisor Mohammed Alyahya.
