RIYADH: Saudi “flynas” airline announced on Wednesday the delivery of 5 A320neo aircraft to increase its all-Airbus fleet to fifty-six airplanes, reflecting a growth of more than 100 percent in the past two years.
The latest deliveries come as part of the expansion plan started under the title “We connect the world with the Kingdom,” in line with the national policy of civil aviation to reach 330 million passengers and one hundred million tourists as well as increase the global destinations linked with Saudi Arabia to more than 250 by 2030.
With the delivery of the 5 new A320neo, the total number of airplanes received by the company this year reached eleven. A total of 19 A320neo aircraft are scheduled for delivery by the end of the year, according to Saudi Press Agency.
Bander Almohanna, the CEO and Managing Director of Flynas said in a statement that this new batch of aircraft reflects the company’s commitment to achieving its strategy of growth and expansion by expanding its fleet and multiplying the seating capacity of domestic and global flights in line with goals of the Pilgrim Experience Program to streamline access to the Two Holy Mosques and the national policy of civil aviation to enable national airlines to contribute to linking the world with Saudi Arabia.
Airline to Receive 8 New Airplanes
He added that the company, over the upcoming weeks, will receive 8 new airplanes as part of the batch scheduled for delivery this year a total of nineteen aircrafts, within an order of purchasing 120 aircraft from Airbus in a total amount exceeding thirty-two billion riyals.
Almohanna indicated that Flynas is preparing to establish its latest operations base in Madinah Airport before the end of the year, making it the only carrier with 4 operations bases across the Kingdom.
