JEDDAH: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has commended Saudi Arabia’s for the efficiency of its air traffic management during the recent geopolitical developments in the region.
The association praised the aviation sector’s exceptional operational preparedness and its ability to maintain the smooth flow of air traffic and uninterrupted operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, security and efficiency, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) was awarded a letter of appreciation and a commemorative plaque in recognition of its outstanding efforts in managing the significant increase in air traffic while ensuring operational continuity with minimal disruption.
IATA noted that SANS demonstrated a high degree of professionalism in air traffic management and the reorganisation of air routes, thereby enhancing the resilience of the Kingdom’s airspace and minimising operational disruptions for airlines despite the exceptional circumstances affecting the region.
