RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence said that its air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 12 drones on Tuesday.
In a statement posted on X, ministry spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki said the drones were neutralised before they could reach their intended targets.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence also reported on Tuesday that debris from an intercepted drone injured two people in Al-Kharj, located southeast of the capital, Riyadh.

According to a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), fragments from the drone fell on three homes and several vehicles in a residential area, causing minor damage.

“Debris resulting from the interception of a drone in Al-Kharj province led to two minor injuries and limited damage to three houses and several vehicles,” the statement said.
Authorities added that standard safety procedures were promptly implemented following the incident.
Security measures across the region remain heightened as officials continue to monitor the situation closely.
The incident underscores ongoing regional tensions and highlights the critical role of advanced defence systems in safeguarding civilian areas and key infrastructure.
Officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining national security and responding decisively to any threats.
