ISLAMABAD: From being dropped and sent home after a disastrous Test series to producing a breathtaking triple century, Salman Ali Agha has transformed a turbulent month into one of the most remarkable comebacks of his career.
Agha batted through the day to smash an unbeaten 300 off 336 deliveries, featuring a staggering 42 fours and six sixes, in the President’s Trophy Grade-I tournament as Kingsmen Academy declared their innings at 565-7 against Markhor IT Solutions.

Coming in at No. 5 with Kingsmen Academy struggling at 72-3, Agha took control of the innings and produced a marathon knock lasting 472 minutes.
He first forged a massive 274-run fourth-wicket partnership with Mohammad Suleman, who scored 115, before adding another 118 runs with Mohammad Shayan, who made 34.
The triple century was particularly significant for Agha as the 32-year-old had never previously scored a double century in first-class cricket. His previous best was 169.

A remarkable response after England setback
Agha’s stunning domestic performance comes after one of the most chaotic periods of his international career.
Last month, he captained Pakistan in the opening Test against England at Headingley in the absence of Babar Azam. Pakistan suffered a heavy innings-and-103-run defeat, after which Agha was dropped for the second Test at Lord’s.
Pakistan subsequently lost that match by 194 runs.
Following the second defeat, the Pakistan Cricket Board sent Agha and six other players back home in a controversial squad reshuffle. Despite further changes to the squad and playing XI, Pakistan went on to lose the third Test by eight wickets and suffered a 3-0 series whitewash.

On his return home, Agha immediately turned his attention to domestic cricket, and responded in emphatic fashion.

Markhor fight back after Agha’s marathon innings
Markhor IT Solutions mounted a strong response on the second day, led by opener Mohammad Farooq.
Farooq remained unbeaten on 107 off just 95 balls, smashing 11 fours and five sixes, as Markhor reached 179-3 after 31 overs.
They still trailed Kingsmen Academy by 386 runs, but Farooq’s aggressive century provided his side with a strong platform after Agha’s extraordinary innings.
