MOSCOW: Russia on Friday said that it expects growing tensions between Ukraine, its European allies, and Poland due to a dispute over grain exports.
Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, described the situation as inevitable and predicted increased friction between Kyiv, Warsaw, and other European capitals. He also referred to Kyiv and Warsaw as the main centers of Russophobia.
Peskov labeled Poland as a rather aggressive country and accused it of engaging in subversive activities. Moscow and its ally Minsk are said to be on alert for potential threats from Poland.
Poland strong supporter of Ukraine since Russia Invasion
Poland has been a strong supporter of Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022 and a major supplier of weapons to Kyiv.
However, recent tensions arose due to Poland’s ban on Ukrainian grain imports, aimed at protecting its own farmers, and Poland’s decision to no longer arm Ukraine while honoring existing arms supply agreements.
