Gold Price Rises to All-time High of Rs182,800 Per Tola

ISLAMABAD: The price of 24 karats per tola gold witnessed an increase of Rs100 on Wednesday, reaching an all-time high of Rs182,800 against its sale at Rs182,700 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday the gold prices recorded a major increase of Rs4n500, with a further increase of Rs 100 on Wednesday.

The rates of 10-gram 24-karat gold also recorded an increase of Rs 85 to Rs 156,721 from Rs156,636 while the price of 10-gram 22-karat gold reached Rs 143,661 from Rs143,583, according to reports from the jeweler’s market.

Meanwhile, the rates of per tola silver remained constant at Rs2,050 and that of ten-gram silver at Rs1,757.54.

Unlike Tuesday, the rates of gold decreased in the international market by $7 to $1,803 against its sale at $1,810 on the previous day. On Tuesday the gold rates were increased by $12.

Increase in Gold Prices

Like petroleum prices, rates of gold also affect the sentiments of the market in Pakistan. The recent surge in the price of gold for the last couple of years has made the masses in worries. People from the lower and middle classes are even more worried and consider it a major hurdle in arranging matrimonial and engagement activities.
