Rohit Sharma Reaches 11,000 ODI Runs, Becomes Second-Fastest to Achieve Feat

Rohit Sharma became the second fastest (261 inns) in the world to reach 11000 ODI runs, displacing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar (276) from the second spot.

ISLAMABAD: Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has reached a major career milestone by surpassing 11,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs).

He achieved this feat during India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh on Thursday, becoming the second-fastest player in history to reach the mark.

Rohit becomes the fourth Indian and the 10th player globally to reach this landmark, highlighting his exceptional consistency and prowess in the limited-overs format, according to the Times of India.

Rohit Sharma’s ascent to the 11,000-run club has been marked by various records and memorable performances.

He achieved this feat in 261 innings, making him the second-fastest player worldwide to reach 11,000 ODI runs, trailing only teammate Virat Kohli, who accomplished it in 222 innings.

This milestone also sees Rohit surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who reached the same in 276 innings.

Since his ODI debut in 2007, Rohit has been a cornerstone of India’s batting line-up. His ability to support innings and accelerate when needed has been essential in numerous Indian wins.

Notably, Rohit also holds the record for the highest individual ODI score of 264 runs and is the only player to have scored three double centuries in ODIs.
