LONDON, UK: British rock legend Rod Stewart has announced that his next tour will be his last, bringing an end to a touring career spanning more than six decades. The 81-year-old singer unveiled dates for “The Final Encore”, which will begin in Ireland in April 2027 and conclude in Germany on July 24.

‘Time to say farewell’
Stewart announced his decision in a video message, saying the coming tour would be his “last rock and roll tour.” He also thanked fans for supporting his career and said he hoped his music had given them something in return.
“My dear friends, the time has come to say farewell to life on the road,” Stewart said, describing The Final Encore as “most definitely” his last tour. He said he had been performing the music he loved since he was 19 and wanted to thank fans with “one hell of a show.”

The tour will open with a show at Dublin’s 3Arena on April 23, 2027, before moving through the UK and several European countries. The final performance is scheduled for July 24 at the ZAG Arena in Hannover, Germany.

Recent heart procedure
Stewart’s announcement follows a recent health setback that forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his US tour. Reports said doctors discovered an underlying heart problem and a blockage, after which he underwent a coronary stent procedure.

Despite ending his large-scale touring career, Stewart has not ruled out future one-off performances or recording new music. The Guardian reported that the singer could continue working on studio projects.
