RIYADH: Saudi Airline, Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for its three-times-weekly service between Riyadh and Jakarta, expanding its growing Asian network and taking the number of destinations on sale to 16.
The new service will commence on November 16, 2026, strengthening air links between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia and supporting Riyadh Air’s strategy of connecting major global destinations through the Kingdom’s capital, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
Riyadh Air Chief Executive Officer Tony Douglas said the Jakarta route marked another milestone in the airline’s expansion across Asia, strengthening business, tourism and religious travel between the two G20 nations.

He said the airline would operate the route using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering passengers its digitally focused travel experience and Saudi hospitality.
Three flights a week
Riyadh Air will operate three weekly flights from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK).
Flights will depart Riyadh at 10:50 pm and arrive in Jakarta at noon the following day. Return flights will leave Jakarta at 3:00 pm and arrive in Riyadh at 8:15 pm, local time.
The route will be operated by Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring the airline’s latest cabin interiors and onboard services.
Growing Saudi-Indonesia trade links
The new route comes as trade, business travel and religious tourism between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia continue to grow.
Bilateral trade reached $6.6 billion in 2025 and stood at $2.6 billion in the first half of 2026, while automotive trade exceeded $1.7 billion annually, supporting business links between the two markets.

The direct service is also expected to facilitate government, diplomatic and executive travel, while providing a new gateway for Indonesian religious visitors travelling to Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh as a global travel hub
The route will give Indonesian travellers direct access to Riyadh’s cultural attractions, modern developments and expanding economic opportunities.
It will also enable passengers to connect through Riyadh with Riyadh Air’s wider international network, further strengthening the Saudi capital’s role as a global aviation hub.
