Rawalpindi’s Arts Council Hosts Musical Event Showcasing Youth Talent

ISLAMABAD: Singers from across Pakistan’s Punjab province took part in a concert at Rawalpindi’s Punjab Arts Council. The musical event showcased the talent of the youth.

The artists who took part in the musical event included Gulab, Asma Lata, Tahir Nayar, Saqleen Musa Khelvi, Sagar Khan, Amira Mir, Sharafat Baloch, and Jahangir Khan while Hamid Babar, Saeed Anwar, and Shahid Bhola presented a one-man comedy show. Many people from the capital Islamabad along with Rawalpindi attended the musical night.

The special guest of the event was the arts council’s director Waqar Ahmed who stated that with respect to the country’s culture songs have their own unique place. In these songs, Punjabi people’s simplicity, sincere love, and traditions are hidden.

Ahmed added that we are in luck as the world over our culture is much loved. This is because a unique culture represents our identity. History tends to forget those nations which do not have any type of recognition.

The Punjab Arts Council’s directed explained that the youngster of today are benefitting as earlier Punjabi artists had preserved their tunes, folk songs, and unique expression richly.

Organizing musical events welcome step

On the occasion, the arts council’s assistant director, Muhammad Suleman reminded that around the globe artists were recognized as messengers of peace.

Suleman explained that organizing musical events are a welcome step.

He further said that Pakistani artists have no shortage of artists and emphasized that worldwide Pakistani classical music singers have performed.
