LAHORE: Quetta Gladiators captain Saud Shakeel won the toss and opted to field first against Karachi Kings in the second match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11 here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
Shakeel explains bowling decision
Speaking at the toss, Saud Shakeel said, “We’ll bowl first. I think with the sunlight early on, dew will come in later, and that’s why we are bowling first.”
Reflecting on his second season as captain, he added, “Yeah, I’m pretty much okay with that. I’m used to playing for Quetta Gladiators; this is my third year straight, so I’m happy.”
The Quetta skipper also expressed confidence in his bowling attack, stating, “They both are playing. They are our important bowlers; we are relying on them and looking forward to their performance. I think it’s very important. You set the tempo there, and you want your team to start well, so we are looking for that.”
