DUBAI: Qatar has announced the complete resumption of maritime navigation for all vessels from today, signalling a return to normal shipping activity under regulated conditions.
According to the Ministry of Transport, vessel movement will restart on April 12, 2026, with operations permitted daily between 6:00am and 6:00pm. The decision applies to all types of ships and maritime traffic across the country’s waters.
In a statement, the ministry said the move marks the full restoration of navigation following earlier restrictions, while maintaining safety measures to ensure secure operations. Fishing boats that are officially licensed for maritime activity will be allowed to operate throughout the day, providing greater flexibility for the sector.
Authorities have urged all vessel operators and maritime companies to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines. They emphasised the importance of ensuring that all required safety and security equipment is properly installed, functional and regularly checked before and during voyages.
The ministry highlighted that compliance with these regulations is essential to maintaining high safety standards and preventing incidents at sea.
The resumption of maritime traffic is expected to support trade and economic activity, while reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to safe and efficient navigation across its territorial waters.
