DOHA, Qatar: Qatar on Thursday categorically rejected “false reports published by Israeli media outlets” which alleged that the Gulf country had agreed to participate in military action against Iran, reaffirming its commitment to diplomacy and regional stability.

“The State of Qatar will not allow such misleading allegations to undermine its active diplomatic efforts to bring the conflict to an end,” a statement issued by Qatar’s International Media Office reads.

Qatar’s International Media Office said that these allegations are being circulated by individuals seeking to drag the Gulf state into the conflict, undermine its pivotal mediation role, and push the region toward further escalation and chaos.

“The Office affirms that these allegations have been circulated by individuals seeking to draw the State of Qatar into the conflict, to undermine its pivotal role in mediation, and to push the region towards further escalation and chaos,” the International Media Office’s statement reads.

The International Media Office noted that Qatari officials have repeatedly affirmed since the beginning of the conflict that the state has not and will not participate in any military action against any neighbouring country.

“In this context, the Office notes that Qatari officials have repeatedly affirmed, since the outset of the conflict, that the State of Qatar has not participated and will not participate in any military action against any of its neighbouring states,” the statement reads.

The office further stressed that Qatar will not allow such misleading claims to undermine its ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.

“It will continue its good offices in coordination with its regional and international partners to reach a comprehensive and sustainable agreement that addresses the concerns of all parties,” the statement added.

The statement underscores Qatar’s continued emphasis on mediation and diplomacy amid tensions in the region, with Doha positioning itself as a key facilitator of dialogue between opposing parties.
