ISLAMABAD: Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Pakistan’s leadership and people on the country’s Independence Day, saying relations between Moscow and Islamabad are steadily advancing across a range of areas.
In a message addressed to Pakistan’s president and prime minister, Putin said Russia and Pakistan were maintaining productive cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian fields.
“Russia and Pakistan relations are successfully moving forward,” Putin said, adding that the two countries were also working together on important regional and global issues.

The Russian president expressed confidence that Moscow and Islamabad would continue joint constructive efforts to strengthen their partnership in all areas.
He said the expanded partnership would serve the interests of the Russian and Pakistani peoples and contribute to international peace, security and stability.
Putin also conveyed his wishes for the health and continued success of Pakistan’s leadership.
He expressed hope that the people of Pakistan would continue to enjoy “peace, stability and prosperity.”
