Punjab Reports Another 139 Dengue Cases

LAHORE: Dengue fever cases continue to surge in Punjab, with 139 new cases reported in various districts within 24 hours.

As of Thursday, 4,053 confirmed dengue cases have been recorded across 36 districts in Punjab this year. The highest numbers were reported in the provincial capital, Lahore, concerning 1,641 cases, followed closely by Rawalpindi with 1,035, Multan with 503, Faisalabad with 190, and Gujranwala with 163 cases.

In the last 24 hours, there have been 54 new cases in Lahore, 45 in Rawalpindi, 12 in Multan, 3 in Faisalabad, 6 in Gujranwala, and 3 in Sheikhupura.

Moreover, Kasur, Gujrat, Narowal, Sahiwal, and Vehari have reported two new dengue cases in each city during the same period. Muzaffargarh, Chakwal, Toba Tek Singh, Mandi Bahauddin, Rajanpur, and Bhakkar each reported one new case.

Currently, 149 dengue patients receive treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 55 being treated in Lahore district hospitals.

Secretary of Health Punjab, Ali Jaan Khan, has urged citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever. He also called on them to collaborate with health department teams in their dedicated efforts to combat this outbreak.
