Punjab Govt Distributes Relief Goods Among Flood Victims

MUZAFFARGARH: The Punjab govt on Tuesday distributed relief supplies among flood-affected survivors in Alipur are of the district.

The flood aid included a large number of mats and tents. The relief good was given to the displaced people due to the significant erosion of the Sutlej River.

Tehsildar Muhammad Iqbal Abbasi, overseeing the aid distribution, claims that aid packages were distributed among the affectees on merit and directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC).

He added that crops spreading on vast areas were destroyed due to the inundation of Basti Naqli, Dada, and Nalka Ada villages, the same with the erosion of the Sutlej River.

“The rapid river flow swapped away dozens of the houses,” he said.

According to the Tehsildar, a Revenue Department survey revealed that residents of roughly 50 dwellings in Moza Kundrala had become homeless. He said flood victims also received food, medicine, and animal feed. —APP
