PSL X to Begin with Glittering Opening Ceremony in Rawalpindi on April 11

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The tenth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL X) will begin with a glittering opening ceremony at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday, 11 April — the first time the city will host the tournament’s curtain-raiser.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the opening ceremony will begin at 7:00 PM, featuring performances by an impressive line-up of musical talent.

Sufi legend Abida Parveen, pop icon Ali Zafar, and rap duo Young Stunners will headline the event. The artists behind the official PSL X anthem — Abrar ul Haq, Natasha Baig, Talha Anjum, and Ali Zafar — will also take the stage.

The opening ceremony will include a cultural showcase and a fireworks display, promising an electric atmosphere to mark the beginning of the month-long cricketing spectacle.

Following the ceremony, the tournament will get underway at 8:30 PM with defending champions Islamabad United facing off against two-time winners Lahore Qalandars.

The six-team tournament, which includes Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans, will run from 11 April to 18 May.

A total of 34 matches will be played across four venues — Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan.

Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the lion’s share of matches, staging 13 fixtures including both Eliminators and the grand final on 18 May.

Rawalpindi will host 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on 13 May. Karachi and Multan will each host five matches.

The tournament schedule includes three double-headers, with two set to take place on Saturdays and one on Labour Day, 1 May, ensuring a feast of weekend cricket for fans across the country.
