PSL 11: Lahore Qalandars Opt to Field After Winning Toss against Peshawar Zalmi

KARACHI: Defending champions Lahore Qalandars won the toss and chose to bowl first against Peshawar Zalmi in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 clash at the National Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Squads

Lahore Qalandars have a squad led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, with players including Abdullah Shafique, Sikandar Raza, Mohammad Naeem, Mustafizur Rahman, Haris Rauf, Usama Mir,  and Fakhar Zaman.

Peshawar Zalmi, captained by Babar Azam, feature Sufiyan Muqeem, Abdul Samad, Ali Raza, Aaron Hardie, Aamir Jamal, Mohammad Haris, and Iftikhar Ahmed.

The two teams have met 21 times in PSL history, with Peshawar Zalmi holding a narrow advantage. Zalmi have secured 11 wins, while Qalandars have won nine matches, with one encounter ending without a result.

Lahore Qalandars will be aiming for an important victory to improve their net run rate and strengthen their chances of finishing in the top four, having registered two wins and two losses so far this season.

Peshawar Zalmi, meanwhile, will look to maintain their strong momentum after recent impressive performances with both bat and ball. They will be targeting another win to move to the top of the table.
