PSL 10: Peshawar Zalmi Set Modest 148-Run Target for Karachi Kings

KARACHI, Pakistan: The Karachi Kings bowlers restricted Peshawar Zalmi to a modest total of 147 for eight by in the 11th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Monday.

After being put in to bat on a challenging pitch, Peshawar Zalmi struggled to build momentum despite a steady knock from captain Babar Azam.

The right-hander top-scored for his side with a composed 46 off 41 deliveries, including seven boundaries.

Peshawar Zalmi’s innings got off to a shaky start when opener Saim Ayub fell cheaply in the third over, managing just four runs before being dismissed by Mir Hamza.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore joined Babar at the crease but also failed to make an impact, departing for seven off six balls in the seventh over.

Mohammad Haris then partnered with Babar to steady the innings, adding 31 runs for the third wicket.

However, Babar’s dismissal in the 12th over triggered a collapse. He was removed by Khushdil Shah, who went on to deliver a match-defining spell.

Haris, who struck four boundaries in his 21-ball 28, was the only other batter to offer resistance.

Hussain Talat added 18 off 16 balls before falling to a slower delivery from Aamir Jamal.

Mitchell Owen and the lower order failed to contribute meaningfully, as Peshawar Zalmi lost quick wickets and finished their innings at 147 for eight.

For Karachi Kings, Khushdil Shah and Abbas Afridi shared six wickets between them, claiming three each.

Aamir Jamal and Mir Hamza picked up a wicket apiece, helping to contain Peshawar Zalmi’s batting lineup.

Both teams fielded unchanged playing XIs from their previous matches. Karachi Kings now face a chase of 148 under lights, with the pitch expected to continue offering assistance to bowlers.
