ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack in North Waziristan.
The President and the Prime Minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over shahadat of seven personnel in Northwest Pakistan. According to President Secretariat Press Wing, he paid tribute to shaheed officers and personnel of Pakistan army. The President reiterated the resolve to eradicate terrorism forever from the country.
Meanwhile, the prime minister expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the shahadat of seven personnel, including two officers of the security forces, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release. He said that martyred jawans had foiled nefarious designs of terrorists.
The entire nation was proud of the sacrifices of shaheed jawans who had laid down their lives for the motherland, the PM added. Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the high ranks of Shuhada and for the bereaved families to bear the loss with strength, APP added.
Seven Security Personnel Martyred in North Waziristan: ISPR
Seven security personnel including two officers embraced martyrdom during a terrorist attack on security forces’ post and ensuing clearance operation in North Waziristan in the early hour of this morning, the ISPR said on Saturday.
The military’s media wing said that in early hours of Saturday, a group of six terrorists attacked a security forces’ post in Mir Ali of North Waziristan District. The ISPR added, “As own troops foiled the initial attempt of intrusion, the terrorists rammed an explosive laden vehicle into the post, followed by multiple suicide bombing attacks, which led to collapse of portion of a building, resulting into Shahadat of five brave sons of the soil.”
According to the ISPR, “The Shuhada include Havildar Sabir (resident of District Khyber), Naik Khurshid (resident of District Lakki Marwat), Sepoy Nasir (resident of District Peshawar), Sepoy Raja (resident of District Kohat) and Sepoy Sajjad (resident of District Abbotabad)”.
The ISPR maintained, “During the conduct of ensuing clearance operation, own troops led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, effectively engaged and sent to hell all six terrorists.”
It maintained, “During intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali (age: 39 years, resident of Karachi) and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar (age: 23 years, resident of District Talagang), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat”.
The ISPR further said that sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist present in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
