CAIRO: President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas is expected to arrive in Cairo today.
He will chair a meeting for the heads of the Palestinian factions tomorrow (Sunday), according to Diab al-Louh, Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt.
During this two-day visit, he said the President will also meet with his Egyptian counterpart Abdul Fattah al-Sisi during which they will discuss the latest political developments and efforts to revive the peace process, as well as Egypt’s efforts to end the intra-Palestinian division.
The meeting of the heads of the factions is expected to discuss national unity and ending the 17-year-long division.
