ISLAMABAD: In an opinion poll on Sunday, the first since the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions last month, Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo‘s approval rating reached an all-time high.
Pollster Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI)’s figures revealed a 76.2% rate of satisfaction with the president.
The executive director of LSI Djajadi Hanaa said that in terms of positive perception of the public during the last three months, President Jokowi’s rating has risen from 62.6% in September last year to 76.2 at present.
Approval rating of Jokowi highest since 2014
As per LSI rating data, this is Joko Widodo’s high rating since 2014, that is, the start of the president’s current term. The more than 10-point jump put Jokowi on his highest approval rating recorded by LSI during his current term which began in 2014.
In December 2022, Jokowi end the restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. His decision has brought positive sentiment as the limits were seen as damaging to the economy.
The latest LSI poll was conducted from 7 to 11 January in which more than 1,200 people participated.
