Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Urges for Necessary Measures to Implement Energy Conservation Plan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged for necessary measures for the implementation of the Energy Conservation Plan across the country.

The Prime Minister presided over a meeting to review the implementation process of the Energy Conservation Plan here in Islamabad on Thursday. The meeting was informed that 1,000-megawatt fans will be installed in the public buildings in the first phase of solarization, and bidding would be started next week.

The meeting learned that the policymaking process had been started for the indigenous production of solar panels and the relevant industries have been consulted in this regard.

The meeting also discussed the issue of electric motorcycles and concerned officials informed the participants that were formulating a comprehensive policy to increase the production of electric motorcycles in the country.

The meeting agreed that all industries would start working next year to shift motorcycles to solar energy

It was also decided to completely ban the production of high-energy-consuming lights after its current stock ended.
