Earlier, Biden tested positive for COVID-19 while on a campaign visit to Las Vegas and is experiencing mild symptoms, the White House confirmed.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had announced the positive test for Joe Biden after the president of UnidosUS, a Latino civil rights group, stated that Biden would not be able to speak at a scheduled event due to the diagnosis. Karine Jean-Pierre further said that the President is vaccinated and boosted and experiencing mild symptoms.
The development takes place as prominent Democrats including US Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and ex- Speaker Nancy Pelosi have increased pressure on President Biden to withdraw from his reelection campaign over deep concerns he cannot defeat former President Donald Trump, US press reported.
