ISLAMABAD: Partly cloudy weather was recorded in the city on Wednesday while similar weather conditions are predicted for the next 24 hours by Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to the Met officials, a westerly wave was still present and continuing to affect Kashmir and neighboring regions. They predicted that the majority of the country would experience cold and dry weather. However, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will have a few spots of partly overcast weather with a chance of light rain.

Weather yesterday

Rainfall was recorded in several cities including Dir, Drosh, Mir Khani, Saidu Sharif, , Malam Jabba, Kalam, Chitral, Murree, Islamabad, Rawalakot, Rawalpindi, Sialkot Airport, Attock, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Garhi Dupatta, and Skardu while snowfall was recorded at Drosh, Mir Khani, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Chitral, Dir, Murree, Skardu, and Astor.

Air quality

The air quality in Lahore is 189 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 188, 159 in Muridke, 209  in Faisalabad, and 174 in Rawalpindi. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 177 US AQI, and 88 in Mirpur Khas while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 158. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 180.

Recorded temperatures

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 6 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 9°C in Lahore, 13°C in Karachi, 7°C in Peshawar, 3°C in Quetta, and 2°C in Gilgit.

Minimum recorded temperatures

Today’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperature’s (°C): Leh -12, Kalat -11, Kalam -08, Parachinar, Quetta -07, Zhob, Gupis -06, Hunza, Skardu, Malam Jabba -05, Bagrote, Dalbandin -04, Murree, Panjgur and Astore -03.
