Palestinians are Victim of Israel’s New Right-Wing Government: Experts

LONDON: Experts have said that the Israeli government is implementing such measures to suppress the collective national identity and legal political expression of Palestinians.

Sami Abu Shehadeh, an ex-Knesset member said that Israel doesn’t see their national component as a part of their identity. He added that the victory of Israel’s extremist right-wing parties in the last elections sounded alarm bells across Israel and for its Western allies.

He maintained that Palestinians can only expect discrimination in the field of education due to the new government’s stance. Sami Abu Shehadeh said that the world is unaware that the system of education in Israel is built on racial separation.

Right-Wing Government in Israel

The experts argued that the fundamental policy of the new government was intended to hit Palestinians.

Director at the Mada Al-Carmel Arab Center for Applied Social Research in Haifa, Dr. Areen Hawari said that Israel is a settler colonial state, the homeland of other people, just like New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia.

Dr. Hassan Jabareen, a Palestinian lawyer, admitted that thousands of Israelis holding protests in Tel Aviv against the judicial reforms, and several have also criticized Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. He said that they see themselves as victims of that very legal system in Israel. He said that they are in fact the key victims of Israel’s new extremist government.

Abu Shehadeh said that the activists must continue to educate others people about the Palestinian cause and narrative. He said that Israel is the most racist society. He further said that people should see this truth in order to support their struggle. He further said that they are struggling for justice, peace, and equality for all.
