BEIJING: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held a meeting with President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing. The meeting took place at the Great Hall where Prime Minister Kakar extended his congratulations to President Xi Jinping on the successful holding of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum.
During the meeting, the premier commended Chinse President for outlining an eight-point agenda concerning the future direction and scope of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The two leaders reaffirmed the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership shared between Pakistan and China. They underlined the strategic importance of this partnership in the evolving international landscape and expressed their commitment to further strengthening and deepening high-level dialogues and exchanges to benefit both countries and their people.
Strategic Ties Bolster Peace and Stability
Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the reliability of the partnership between the two counties, describing the nations as steadfast friends. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for China on its core issues. The Prime Minister underscored the role of Pakistan-China relations in promoting peace and stability in the region.
In response, President Xi Jinping referred to Pakistan as an “iron-brother,” a trusted friend, and a partner in peace and development. He expressed China’s special regard for Pakistan in its foreign policy and assured continued support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and development.
The leaders engaged in discussions on bilateral cooperation aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and fostering economic development, which aligns with the shared vision of both nations.

Prime Minister Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating with China in promoting regional connectivity and the socio-economic advancement of the Pakistani people. In turn, President Xi pledged ongoing Chinese support for Pakistan in realizing its geo-economic potential and becoming a regional trade hub.
Both leaders stressed the importance of the steady progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its role as a conduit for growth, livelihood, innovation, openness, and green development. This vision is in line with Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development.
