ISLAMABAD: Celebrations broke out in every corner of Pakistan with drums being played and sweets shared among people upon the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos on Sunday.

Pakistanis are holding rallies to express solidarity and pay rich tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan for giving a befitting reply to Indian aggression.

Sweets were also distributed in different cities of the country, where people raised slogans in support of Pakistan and the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Waving the Pakistani flag, people chanted slogans of “Long Live Pakistan Army” and garlanded the soldiers with flowers in Lakki Marwat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

North Waziristan and Bajaur

Rallies were also organised in North Waziristan and Bajaur to celebrate the victory of the Pakistan Army against Indian aggression.

A large number of people took to the streets in Chitral to pay tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

Peshawar Cantt, Mardan, Swat, and Mohmand also saw joyful processions filled with energy and pride.

Reports suggest that rallies were also held in Peshawar Cantonment and Mardan in the northwestern province.

Rallies were also held in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank to pay tribute to the Armed Forces of the country. The participants of the rally were raising the slogan, “Long Live Pakistan.”

The celebrations continued in Nowshera and Peshawar’s Qila Bala Hisar, where families joined rallies, handed out sweets, and thanked Allah Almighty for this great victory.

No matter where they were from or what they believed in, people from all backgrounds came together as one nation. Their message was loud and clear: We stand with our army, we are proud of our heroes, and we are thankful for this moment of glory.

It was a day of unity, joy, and love for Pakistan — a day the people will remember for a long time.

By Sunday, that euphoria had blossomed into full-fledged festivities as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared it officially as Youm-e-Tashakkur — a day to bow heads in thankfulness and raise voices in unity.

“I’ve gathered here with friends to celebrate Pakistan’s victory over India, who thought they could intimidate us. We proved them wrong,” said Murtaza Ali, a resident of E-11 Islamabad, waving the national flag high as patriotic songs echoed around him.

In every province, rallies painted towns and cities in shades of national pride. From motorcycles draped in flags to children with painted faces, every corner of the country celebrated the resounding message: Pakistan stands united, resilient, and victorious.

Double delight

Muhammad Ibrahim, a resident of I-10, summed up the sentiment of millions: “Today is special beyond words — we celebrate not just our brave military’s success, but also Mothers Day.

It’s the prayers of our mothers that gave strength to our soldiers. I’m celebrating with my mother at home — and I feel like I’m on top of the world.”

In Lahore, the ruling PML-N’s rally down The Mall honoured the forces’ stellar performance in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, with passionate speeches, songs of valour, and fiery symbolic acts including the burning of effigies and enemy flags.

Amid the joy, voices of resolve also rang clear — reminding the nation that while one battle may be over, the fight for justice, especially on diplomatic fronts like the Indus Waters Treaty and the status of Kashmir, must carry forward with the same national spirit.

Even the digital world joined the celebration. Social media platforms X, Facebook, and Instagram were flooded with memes, nationalistic posts, and messages mocking Indian propaganda while uplifting the heroic narrative of Pakistan’s composure and might.
