PM Sharif extended invitation
The UAE president is arriving in Pakistan at the invitation of PM Sharif, who had extended the invitation during his visit to the gulf state a few days earlier. During his visit, which was Sharif’s third tour to the UAE after taking over the prime minister’s office, he discussed matters of mutual interest with the UAE officials. The gulf country agreed to roll over $2 billion debt to Pakistan.
The UAE also announced a loan of $1 billion for the South Asian country. The two leaders also explored ways to further strengthen bilateral ties between the brotherly Islamic states; especially, in the fields of trade, investment and energy.
