BEIJING: A delegation from Pakistan’s Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted a visit to the Wansheng 20 MW rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation project in Chongqing, China.
The project, currently underway by PowerChina Chongqing Engineering Cooperation, was explored by the delegation led by Tu Yongguo, the general manager of the company’s overseas business division.
The visit included inspections of key facilities such as the rooftop photovoltaic array, inverter operations, and the prefab equipment cabin.
The delegation gained valuable insights into the practical application, benefits, and processes involved in sustainable power supply through rooftop distributed photovoltaic systems, as reported by CEN.
Imran Muhammad, the head of the delegation, commended the project and underscored the significance of green energy in reducing carbon emissions and addressing energy scarcity issues.
The project boasts an annual electricity generation capacity of 14 million kilowatt-hours, equivalent to saving 40 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 90 million tons.
Given Pakistan’s abundant solar resources, there is substantial potential for the development of the photovoltaic industry, aligning with the country’s goals of sustainable green development.
Imran Muhammad expressed anticipation for deepening the exchange and cooperation in energy construction with PowerChina Chongqing Engineering Cooperation, emphasizing the close strategic partnership between China and Pakistan.
Following the project exploration, both parties held productive discussions on mutual areas of interest. Tu Yongguo introduced the company’s international business development strategy and core strengths, leading to a preliminary intention to cooperate in the fields of green energy and energy infrastructure.
