LAHORE: A new era dawns for Pakistan women’s cricket. For the first time in the team’s history, two captains will lead the national side across formats as Pakistan prepare for a white-ball series against Sri Lanka starting July 23 in Hambantota.
Fatima Sana, Pakistan’s premier fast bowler, will captain the ODI side before making history as the first Pakistan women’s cricketer to feature in The Hundred. Stepping into her shoes for the T20Is is Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, a seasoned campaigner ready to lead a squad brimming with fresh talent.

Fatima Sana arrives in Sri Lanka on the back of a spectacular ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign in England and Wales. Her 11 wickets in five matches, complemented by 85 runs including a half-century, earned her a place in the Team of the Tournament. At just 24, she has already become the face of Pakistan’s fast-bowling renaissance.

The T20I squad is packed with fresh faces eager to seize their opportunity. Eman Naseer, Humna Bilal, Maham Anees, Momina Riasat, Najiha Alvi, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar have all been named in the squad. Of these, Eman Naseer, Maham Anees, and Momina Riasat are yet to make their T20I debuts and could earn their maiden international caps during the series.
For Momina Riasat and Maham Anees, the tour offers a double opportunity—both are also part of the ODI squad, giving them a chance to establish themselves in both formats.
